Mercedes-Benz New Facility Creates 122 New Jobs
A new 70,000 square foot vehicle production plant will bring in more than 122 new jobs to the Brunswick area.
Automobile maker, Mercedes-Benz plans to produce more than 50,000 cars, creating the need to hire 78 workers to the on-site facility as well as 44 indirect jobs.
The company plans to begin production Summer 2009 and will replace the Jacksonville facility.
US Maritime Administration estimates that when production goes underway, the area will generate more than $1.5 million dollars in state and local taxes.
