Civic D16Z6 diesel-like engine noise
Car: Honda Civic Coupe -94
Engine: D16Z6 (I think) (1.6l ESi SOHC VTEC), gasoline, 248 000 km (155 000 miles) driven.
The engine makes this diesel-like noise when pressing gas a little from idle. You can also hear the noise immediately when the engine has started, then fading away until I press the gas a little. The sound seems to be coming from the head or near it. The sound is louder when the engine is not really warm, but the sound can still be heard when it is as warm as it gets.
When I started the engine in this video air temperature was +3 degrees celsius (37.4 degrees fahrenheit) and I warmed the engine for 30 minutes or so before starting.
The engine and car works great but this noise is bothering me A LOT.
I had the valves and ignition timing checked and all cleared out. The mechanic said the noise is nothing to be worried about.
The previous owner said it could be VTEC's (whatever these http://www.moposoppi.fi/keinuvivut17e.jpg parts are in english) rocker arms(?) making the noise.
I thought it could be this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeXTPxBjujA but in this video the sound only comes on idle unlike mine which comes when ADDING gas FROM idle.
About 60 000 kilometers (37 500 miles) ago the whole engine was maintained. Timing belt + related parts (previous owner wasn't sure about the related parts) and all the engine's moving parts were replaced. This also makes me suspicious if it can be the timing belt or the tensioner. The engine does not eat oil much.
So if any of you have any idea from where this sound is coming from and how I can get rid of it and could share it with me, it would be very much appreciated. I'm 99% sure this isn't a normal sound to have in a Honda or any engine.

Civicin moottorista kuuluu diesel-tyylinen ääni kun hieman painaa kaasua tyhjäkäynniltä. Ääni kuuluu isommin kun moottori ei oo täysin lämmin, mutta kuuluu hieman vaikka olisi. Videossa kuuluu sama ääni myös heti käynnistyksen alussa. Ääni tuntuu tulevan kannesta tai jostain läheltä.
Auto ja moottori toimii muuten hyvin, mutta tämä ääni häiritsee erittäin paljon. Venttiilit ja sytytyksen ajoitus on tarkastettu ja oli kunnossa. Mekaanikko sano että äänestä ei tarvi huolestua.
Edellinen omistaja sanoi, että ääni saattaa tulla VTECin keinuvivuista. Ajattelin, että ääni voisi olla sama kuin tässä http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeXTPxBjujA videossa, mutta tässä se ääni tulee tyhjäkäynnillä, kun taas minulla tyhjäkäynniltä nostettaessa kaasua.

Jos löytyy ideaa mistä ääni voisi tulla nii voi laittaa kommenttia. Olis erittäin tervetullutta. Olen 99% varma, että tämä ääni ei ole normaalia (Civicin) moottorissa.
