500 Workers Affected By General Motors Second Shift Cuts
General Motors planned to work 500 employees in their second shift in Flint Michigan but are now postponing their course of action of the medium-duty line that were to produce the GMC TopKick and Chevrolet Kodiak.
Flint Truck Assembly spokesman, Kevin Nadrowski said that, "we feel we can meet our customer orders with a single shift rather than add a second shift... and will scale back production on the plant's heavy-duty line, which makes Chevrolet Silverados and GMC Sierra pickups sooner than planned."
The cuts took effect due to declining auto sales and high gas prices.
