Mynes EMS (MEMS) for MINI Cooper-S R53 ***Long DEMO***
2006 MINI Cooper-S running the Mynes Engine Management System (MEMS) for the 2002-2007 R53-Series.
In this video, we will demo the following:
- the MEMS connecting to the stock wiring harness
- Pre-Ignition sequences
- Ignition and engine idle
- engine shut-off & switching from the MEMS back to the Stock ECU.
Wiring:
- The MEMS Development board is connected to the stock wiring harness using an adapter harness
- No stock ECU is present or connected to the car;
- the MEMS is truly a STAND-ALONE unit and NOT a piggyback.
Pre-ignition sequence:
- Key ignition is turned ON, dash lights come on, fuel pump is activated
- "Check Engine" and "EML" lights are both on (just like the stock sequence)
- Observe the RPM gauge and the engine temp
- all these are showing the proper values b/c the MEMS is sending the appropriate CAN messages to the instrument cluster.
Ignition and engine idle:
- factory rpm gauge, speedometer and temp gauge will function 100% while using the MEMS
Recaps:
- this development board we are using is for R&D only,
- the Production Unit will fit directly into the stock ECU slot and connect to the stock harness
- no modification to the stock harness or connector is needed (a true PnP comuter for the MINI).
