75 Fiat 124 Spider 5.0
My 1975 Fiat 124 Spider with a 5.0 Ford V8 swapped in it. I keep having a problem with water getting in the gas tank, that's why it's stumbleing a little bit when I rev it up. A new fuel cell should eliminate that problem.
The car currently has a 302 with a stock bottom end, Edlebrock Performer RPM aluminum heads with 2.02/1.60 stainless valves, Performer RPM intake, and 600 CFM Holley vacuum secondary carb. Ignition consists of a Ford Duraspark II distributor (with the old points style cap on it for hood clearance), a Chevy HEI ignition module and a MSD Blaster II coil.
Car is not currently driveable because I blew the stock rearend out (which is also why the speedometer goes up when I rev it, driveshaft is just turning free since I sheared the teeth off the pinion gear). In the upcoming months, the car is going to get a new engine that should be in the 385-400 horsepower range, a T5 5 speed from a Mustang, and a beefed up rearend, and I plan to lighten the car up even more then it already is. The car currently weighs around 1800 or 1900 pounds.
The rearend went out after racing a guy in a WRX STI. I killed him off the light, this car has just brutal acceleration in 2nd gear.
Stay tuned...
